Watch Recommended Smart Move Goal No Longer Changing

I've had my Apple Watch since April last year, and I've loved how the smart move goal changes every week based on my performance.

However, since January 2016, possibly even earlier, my watch has stopped recommending new smart move goals. Now, after every weekly summary, regardless of how many times or by how much I hit or missed the daily move goal, my watch recommends the same goal as it did the previous week. This has gotten to the point where last week I hit my goal on 0 days, and yet my watch kept this week's daily move goal the same as last week's. Basically my recommended move goal has not changed at all in 2016 despite my fluctuating goal hitting performance. This was definitely not the case when I bought my watch a year ago. It would change every week based on whether I missed a few days, surpassed the goal on all days, etc.

I'm aware that I can change the goal manually, but this lack of recommendations is pretty ridiculous for something called a SMART move goal...

Anyone else have this issue?

Hi

The following steps may help:

On your iPhone, close all open apps:

- Double-press the Home button, then swipe up on each of the app previews to close them.

Restart both your iPhone and your watch:

- Turn both devices off together first, then restart your iPhone first;

- To turn your watch off: press and hold the side button until you see the Power Off slider; drag it to turn off;

- To turn it on: press and hold the side button until you see the Apple logo.

Same thing. I think I can pinpoint when this behavior manifested itself. It all started when I upgraded from an iPhone 6 to a 6s Plus. The Smart Move suggestion engine worked as designed on my 6, but when I switched to a 6s Plus it only worked on the way down to 100 calories where it has been stuck, no matter how active I've been over several weeks to push it up.

Figuring it just needed a nudge, I adjusted it manually last week. This morning, it stayed stuck on the manual number of 110 calories, even though I was very active this past week with multiple 300% move goal badges.

I'll try the solution suggested by the other poster, but I'm not holding my breathe.

swupnil, I think that's what it is. I also carefully followed all the right steps before I migrated my watch to the new iPhone. I read the support docs and a couple blogs. Not sure if this is a global watch issue or just very rare, but it's very disappointing. Was one of my favorite features to see what the smart suggestion engine would say on a Monday morning. It is a motivator.

Calling AppleCare may do some good as far as getting it logged, but they'll likely just ask me to unpair/re-pair the watch and report back after some weeks have elapsed.
