Q: how to delete the music library directly from iPhone 6S

I have tried going to settings>general>storage & iCloud Usage>manage storage>music>all songs; swipe left, delete, but it

just kicks back without deleting. iOS 9.3.1 is up to date, storage capacity is 113GB, 100 of which are available. The Cloud

seems to be unable to handle the capacity of my library which is 314GB(I do not know if has any relevance). I would like to able

start clean and understand moving forward how to accomplish this properly.

Thank you in advance for looking at this question.

    Hello dumb_palooka,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

If I understand your post correctly you are trying to delete all of the music you have saved for offline listening on your iPhone with Apple Music.  An easy way to delete this content is to turn off iCloud Music Library on your iPhone, and then turn it back on.

From your device's Home screen, go to Settings > Music, and turn on iCloud Music Library.

Sync Apple Music across your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch and computer

    Cheers.

iCloud Music Library does not have a size limitation - it has a TRACK limitation of 100,000 songs - which I doubt you have reached yet.

I would try doing a hard reset of the iPhone (holding the HOME and POWER buttons until the Apple Logo appears) and see if either the music is gone or if it then allows you to delete the songs.
