Network boot black screen

Hi guys,

I'm having a problem running network boot on my MB Pro (Model A1398). When I press N during boot I hear a start chime and then all I get is a black screen. So far I tried:

  • resetting PRAM
  • resetting SMC
  • using option during boot (there's no network boot option)
  • selecting network boot from System Preferences -> Startup disk (same effect - black screen)
  • using internet recovery (same effect)
  • updating to latest El Capitan

And still no effect. Is there something else I should try? It's definitely some issue with this machine, since on another one network boot and/or internet recovery works like a charm. Please help.

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X El Capitan (10.11.4)

This is a solution for other problem. Let me tell you why - normally, even if the computer isn't connected to any wired network, booting it with pressed N key results in black screen with a blinking globe which indicates waiting for DHCP to assign an address. In my case with network connected or not all i get is the black screen. Like the part of the operating system responsible for PXE boot process was corrupt.
