iCal will no longer connect to gmail

My gmail account got hacked. I added double verification, but then deleted that. Since recovering my account and removing the double verification, my iCal and Mail accounts will no longer connect to my Google accounts. I found a similar thread on here and tried several of the fixes, including deleting the gmail account from my iCal account and starting a new one; nothing works.
