ARD 3 Mountain Lion

I want to install ARD (admin) on a Mac Mini running ML. I have copied the Remote Desktop Admin.pkg to Applications but after I run the installer, it tells me that a Newer version is already installed. When I attempt to run updates, I there is no updates pending. I have tried to force quit ARDagent but that doesn't help. Also, I tried to copy the Archive.pax.tz to the application folder and tried to run it. That didn't work either.

I think I have to completely uninstall ARD and try again.

Mac mini, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.5)

If you have a copy of ARD, drag it to the trash, then download it, and reinstall.

Download it from where? I have a copy of ARD on CD. I have tried numerous times to install ARD admin on ML and I am not successful. Plus there is no updates after I install ARD. Perhaps, the ARD version that I have is NOT compatible with ML.

Which ARD version is compatible with ML? Where can I download this version for free?

Again, I want to install the ARD (admin) on ML.
