Q: Apple recommended

Sometimes a reply is marked "recommended" and moved up into the original question. Those questions are always marked "solved" but I'm not really sure if the OP has solved her problem, or if Apple has just marked it. It would be useful to know if the recommended post actually solved the problem. Does anyone know about this? And who is Apple in this case? Is it the volunteer hosts, or an actual Apple expert?

My illustration of the "GREY" box outline in the thread would please Apple's sensibilities methinks.

Maybe this kinda outline? Tim should approve.

The grey can easily be mistaken for a Community Secialist answer. The tri-colored one with a tiny Apple icon would be a home run.

Who awards the ARs? Community Specialists, that's who!

[but I do favor something a little different]

Rainbows are nice, but hard to code!

"50 shades of grey" is popular! (markedly different grey from a CommSpec answer?)

I would be willing to let the "under avatar" label and "lack of 'Recommended' text" be the distinction in the thread for a CommSpec answer. List view icon would then be the remaining problem

Okay, I looked in just the iPad and iPhone forums and couldn't find any, can you please cite your many instances of this happening?

You're just gonna have to take my word for it...

... or you can search with Google Site Search for some clever combination of terms that will result in only threads that have been answered by CommSpecs and look at the timestamps one by one - that is what I would have to do to comply with your challenge

I am not interested in "taking your bait" when it really matters not.

So when you said, "... I can cite many instances of CommSpecs answering LONG before that time has elapsed beginning abruptly several months ago". I did look, only at ones in the past few months in those two forums, and couldn't find any. So once again you were just speculating.

Should have said "recollect" instead of "cite" - again = THE END

    Go help somebody, man!

No, you should have said, "it is my opinion that...". Your opinion is apparently incorrect because I have added the Apple Watch forum to my search and still cannot find one instance of this happening. You are supposed to check your facts before posting or test your answer. You made an accusation against a group of people that you cannot back up. It is my speculation that the Community Specialists use the "AppleJiveWare" and get a list of questions to answer that have gone past 24 hours and they deal with that list. It is possible in some of the sparsely trafficked areas they may spot a question and answer it sooner than that.

With Johnathan UK in the Watch forums I doubt they will ever answer a question there.

It appears my reply just slide off the bottom of the page. To parahrase there was a short lived trial program where Community Specialists were answering questions in  much less then 24 hours. You weren't imagining things.

Oh come on Bob, you know it didn't slide off the page it was deleted by the moderators. And to repeat my response to your misguided defense, there was a test done 8 months ago for 2 days and a total of 40 posts. That does not in any way match up with ChitlinsCC's claim in this thread. But props to you for attempting to come to the rescue of your friend. Now perhaps the moderators will again delete your post and my response and lock this thread.

No it was to clarify the matter. It was a dramatic change to this not being a user to user Forum. It happened. People saw it. Questioned It. It was stopped.

Oh please, it was 20 posts on September 29th and 20 on September 30th. 3 people really complained about the rest branched off to other topics as is the norm in that forum. They were in a number of forums. ChitlinsCC said it STARTED several months ago and was still going and he could cite many examples and I called him on it. Since he hangs around in this forum how would he have seen all of these 40 posts? And they stopped on October 1, 2015.
