Q: Half of my bought audiobook is missing.

Hello,

I recently bought my first audiobook, "The Hobbit" (Unabridged) read by Rob Inglis, and I love it so far. Only problem is, I can't get any further, because there is no more.

Gandalf has just parted ways with the dwarves, and here it cuts, with a final advertisement for Audible.com.

The audio is five hours long, and while I did think it seemed rather short, I have little experience with audiobooks, and thus didn't pay notice to it. It's not like "The Hobbit" is that long anyway.

I have tried going to iTunes store and see if I can download anymore, I have tried downloading the whole thign, and I have tried checking to see if it was perhaps only half of the book that I bought, (though, I couldn't think of any reason as to why Apple would only sell half audiobooks) but the description of the audiobook specifically says in the very first line:

The complete unabridged audiobook of J.R.R Tolkien's The Hobbit.

So if it is the complete version... where is the rest of my book? I want to know what happened after Gandalf left Bilbo and the dwarves!!

Please help ~

It appears that only the first part is available in the Danish store (and here in the UK) - audible.com have put the full version is in the US store which is 11 hours long :

You could try contacting iTunes Support and see what they say : http://reportaproblem.apple.com

That is simply unacceptable, if that is the case. The first line of the description literally says "The complete version". That's cheating, in my book, even if it says anywhere else that it is only half: as sellers, it is Apple's responsibility to make sure their customers understand, that it is not the full product. It's like advertising with the full book, but then as you buy it, they rip it in half. How disgusting, I really hope it's not the case and that it's just a misunderstanding.

Thank you for your answer though, I will contact Apple and see if I can get the whole book or my money back.

It's audible.com (not Apple) who have supplied the first half of the book and who have described it in the store as the complete unabridged version

Regardless, it is still Apple that I am buying from. Where they get their products from is none of my concern as a customer. It is still Apple's responsibility to let me know, as their customer, what it is I am paying for.
