using FCPX here even for larger projects on a 2012 MacMini ... eBay, 400 bucks... (add some 16GB Ram...)
FCPX is very tight integrated into OS and hardware, so don't consider a 'hackintosh' ...

And although this is admittedly a biased comment, you'll quickly find reasons other than running FCP X to justify owning the Mac.

There are dozens of video editors for windows; only a few for the Macintosh OS.
