Windows 10 can't access ipod

I recently used my pc to sync my ipod, upgraded to Win 10 and now the pc won't recognize the ipod, it says that the ipod is corrupt. I can use the ipod, and I can use it in my car via the USB. So clearly it is Windows 10. I plug it in and get this message: 'There is a problem with this drive, can and fix now' when I tell Windows to scan and fix, I get another message that says: " This disk check could not be performed because Windows can't access he disk". If I open my file explorer then plug it in, I see it pop up (the full name of it) and after 2 seconds the explorer screen closes. Can anyone help or is it just Microsoft being fascist again?

First, try this procedure to restart the Apple Mobile Device Service

If that does not help, you may want to completely remove iTunes and related software components. This Apple document lists all components of an iTunes installation, and the precise order to uninstall them

Then download and install the latest version of iTunes
