My Macbook Only connect to the internet in Safemode

Hallo everyone...

My name is Irwanda Coki from Indonesia.

I think I need your help guys..

I am dying with my macbook air (IOS X El Capitan 10.11.4) because now it can only connect to the internet in safe-mode.

when I use normal mode, it can connect to the wifi but the internet doesn't work.

It says on safari page that it cannot connect to the server, and also when I open my app store, the contents don't appear..

Anyone can help me? pleaseee

Do I need to re-install my mac or any other ways to solve it?

My concern if it needs to be reinstalled is my datas, I don't have any external HDD to backup my data..

Appreciate for your comments 🙂

Thanks

MacBook Air, OS X El Capitan (10.11.4)

If it works in safe mode then reinstalling OS X won't resolve the issue. It is most likely related to third party software.

The following is disabled under a safe boot:

Use Finder to navigate to these folders. Select Go from the menu bar then Go to Folder.

User uploaded file

/Library/LaunchAgents

/Library/LaunchDaemons

/Library/StartupItems

~/Library/LaunchAgents

Login Items

System Preferences -> Users & Groups -> Login Items

Look for anything related to security software, networking software, or VPN software that may have previously been installed.

go to system library - remove contents of caches folder in trash , then in user library - caches , cookies , saved application state folder in trash - restart from apple logo - empty trash

also if firmware password+ file vault is enabled - one can not enter in safe mode , use SMC , PRAM , ROOT USER ACCOUNT .

if it it is enabled disable it firstly .

yeah may be 3 rd party software downloaded from app store or google as they can be broken unidentified apps . ( never compatible with mac ) avoid using them .

these apps are the major issues in safari - spinning ball rotates when safari is opened .

so it is wiser to go in application folder - right click on that app move to trash - restart from apple - empty trash

have you done correct settings in network what about DNS server settings are they 8.8.8.8 8.8.4.4 - these are correct settings . or correct settings in your ISP service provider router , air port router if you are using it . that may be the reason why you are not connected to wi fi .

check it

If the problem were with incorrect DNS settings, the OP would not be able to connect in Safe Mode either.

Network settings persist in safe mode and safe mode deletes caches--these will not be causing the issue.

It works in safe mode--it does not work in normal mode. If it was a caches issue then booting into safe mode alone would have resolved the issue. When the issue continues in normal mode after a safe boot it is isolated to third party software.

Safe mode disables:

~/Library/LaunchAgents

~/Library/LaunchDaemons (usually this folder does not exist)

/Library/LaunchAgents

/Library/LaunchDaemons

/Library/StartupItems

/Library/Extensions

User login items

When an issue is not present under a safe boot but continues in normal mode, start with the items that safe mode disables.
