Q: Replace title effect in FCP X

Good day!

We have finished a subtitle project (65min) with a certain Title. We have used "Custom" from the Title Browser. However, the client want to change it to a Typing In effect. We also have to change the speed to fit the length of the sentence. Is there a shortcut to replace text on the whole line? At the moment we need to do it one-by -one... (total of 2600 titles!). Thank you, Annemarie

sorry, no help from me.. but:

Who on Earth reads an +hour long typing titles????

That's 3min fun in a Karaoke bar, or to highlight a single line of text "extra, extra, read all about it!" but not straight for more than an hour!!

… before you spend your time editing, you should spend time with your customer...

For a reason, subtitles never come in with 'effect'... hard enough to read AND watch a movie....

sorry for ranting, but no allways the one paying the band decides what to play....

Agree completely. Before undertaking that title replacement assignment, suggest you redo a 5 minute segment and preview the Typewriter effect with your client to see how well it wears with them.

    Good luck.
