Q: Why does notes display multiple accounts, allow multiple accounts to sync notes in settings, yet only syncs if the iCloud account is listed as primary?

I have a work mac and a personal mac.  I want to share my notes between them.  I have separate iCloud accounts for both work and personal.  It would be extremely nice to be able to view my personal notes and/or my work notes on either laptop.  According to the new notes page this only works if one account is listed as primary on both.  This is extremely limiting and I'd be happy if I could even use one account for all notes.  Unfortunately I need to have separate primary accounts.  Either way this seems like a missed opportunity for simple functionality.

Does anyone know of

  • A workaround for this?
    • Some way to store notes in a single place for two accounts.
    • Or a way to not have to be a primary account.
  • Another notes app that will sync two devices and an iphone properly?
  • A way to go back to the old notes when this worked?

Thank you

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X El Capitan (10.11.4)
