my iphone 5 won't turn on even though it's charging

my iphone died earlier today from low battery, i tried to charge it & it says it's charging bc the battery comes up, but it's not turning on, i had it on charge for nearly two hours, didn't work. tried holding down the lock button or the home button or both while putting the charger in like it says online, didn't work, i've checked to see if the charging port is blocked somehow & it isnt, i've also switched many chargers and many places that i've plugged it into & nothing's helping at all idk what to do i tried taking it off charge for a while then putting it back on & that also didn't work please help bc i'm losing my tiny mind here.
