Q: Battery capacity at 82% after 175 cycles

I just purchased a 12" Macbook (Early 2015, 512gb drive) for $900 on eBay which I thought was a great price given that it's the 512gb model.  I received it today and downloaded Coconut Battery to check the capacity.  It is 82% of design capacity at 175 cycles.  I can return it, but should I?  Do you think 82% of design capacity is going to be an issue in the long run for me?

Thank you for a quick reply!

SO Lanny, would you return it if you were me, or what do you think?

82% after 175 and 85.5% after 132 is about the same ratio. It could very well be normal. But as long as the condition is being shown as, "Good," with CocoNutBattery, and, "Normal," in your Apple System Report for the battery, I doubt that it would accepted as a return.

I'm having the same issue and it seems to be accelerating (but I can't prove that). I now have 83% after 143 cycles.

I called Apple support and since my MB is out of warrenty they basically said it was two fold, a user issue and hardware possibility. They only option was to schedule an appointment at an Apple Store and possibly have the battery replaced, for a fee. He wouldn't quote a price for a new bnattery over the phone nor would he admit or even suggest the new battery design was an issue.

Oh well I'll work on it some more.
