Question on mechanical keyboard compatibility

Hi:

I'm in the market for a keyboard at the moment, and I saw a old iMac G3 on Shpock for sale for the price of a used wireless keyboard.

Am I right to assume that the gold ole mechanical keyboard will work if I plug it in my iMac or MacBook running OSX 10.11 (and beyond) ?

MacBook (13-inch Mid 2009), OS X Yosemite (10.10.5), 4GB RAM, 480GB SSD

Any USB KB should work, some F keys may be different & the Power Button will have no effect normally.
