May 12, 2016 5:09 AM in response to Lando1by ckuan,It will run just fine with El Capitan.
You have to check your Adobe apps running in El Cap.

May 12, 2016 5:15 AM in response to ckuanby Lando1,Thanks Ckuan, Would you say that it would run better than Yosemite?
I read that for the Adobe CS6 I would have to reinstall which is not a big deal.
Also, how the UI would look on an old but good Apple cinema Display? Meaning the new font that EC uses, Hard to read?

May 12, 2016 5:28 AM in response to Csound1by Lando1,Thanks again. Just a little concerned here because one thing is to have El Captain on a new computer another is to run it on an older computer.

May 12, 2016 5:28 AM in response to Lando1by ckuan,Yes, IMHO EC is better than Yosemite. In EC, I have no problem with the fonts readability.

May 12, 2016 5:43 AM in response to Lando1by JimmyCMPIT,★HelpfulEl Cap may be more stable than Yosemite, it is for me. But there may be some issue with CS6, particularly with Illustrator. That being said it works for most, though it is no longer supported by Adobe and was never supported by Apple. If you run into issue they won't help and likely Adobe will pressure you into buying Cloud which is what they do now.
Back up your computer ASAP
upgrade to 10.11.4
upgrade CS6 though Photoshop (Help>Check for Updates...)
if you are prompted to install Java use this
Download Java for OS X 2015-001
if the application will not run try either reseting the application preferences
while SHIFT+CMD+OPT+ALT click the Application Icon for PS, AI, ID, etc and you will be prompted to reset the preference file (if you try on a doc icon or shortcut it won't work, t need to be the original)
if that does not work create a new adminstrative account, boot to that account, relaunch CS
if that does not work uninstall with the Adobe Cleaning Tool
https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/cc-cleaner-tool-installation-problems. html
and then reinstall the application in an administrative account.

May 12, 2016 5:47 AM in response to JimmyCMPITby Lando1,Yes, I'll be do the re install as you mentioned. Are you guys using a glossy display?
-
May 12, 2016 5:51 AM in response to Lando1by ckuan,No, I use a screen protector and brightness is set very low.

May 12, 2016 5:54 AM in response to Lando1by JimmyCMPIT,if it works after the upgrade you won't need to but when if it freaks out clean reinstall seems to rectify it.
I'm supporting a group of users on the iMac glossy displays 27" with external monitors which have more of a matte finish. The production work is exclusively on the glossy screens for their choosing, the externals have been given for palettes and non production software. Apple still makes a very good display and calibration is easy, not perfect without 3rd party software but close enough for Rock and Roll was we say in IT, or maybe the band I was in when we forgot to bring a tuner.
