Macbook Pro Stuck on Loading Screen

My Macbook Pro dosn't start. When I turn it on, it asks for my passwoed then the loading bar starts to fill. When it gets to about 70%, it stops. Then after a while, the loading bar turns into a white rectangular box and the laptop freezes completely.

Could anyone please help me solve this problem. Thanks a million

MacBook Pro (13-inch Early 2011), OS X El Capitan (10.11.4)

The symptoms you describe suggest a problem with the HDD.

Reset the SMC and the NVRAM:

Then try a Safe Boot:

If the safe boot fails, boot into the recovery partition and select from the 4 option menu, Disk Utility.

Run Disk Utility>First Aid>Repair
