Top right of the menu bar shows the current user that's logged in and allows for fast switching of user accounts.
You can disable the menu bar display in System Preferences > Users & Groups. Or just Command drag it out of the bar.
Thanks.
Don't suppose you know why when I am writing a Word document(Word for Mac 2008) and go to Save As the Save and Cancel buttons are below the bottom of the display.
Word has been migrated from my now dead 2009 MacBook Air 10.9.5
Hi Lanny
Thanks. It works. However being a curious chap I then tried un collapsing the window using the same chevron and it expanded back out but this time it fits the window so all is visible. I've checked twice on different new documents and it worked both times. Problem solved
Yes, as you discovered, cycling the button fixes it, but eventually, it will happen again. The problem is related to whatever Microsoft has chosen for an initial default setting.
It also appears to be related to the Mac laptop's screen resolution setting. I've found that it is a problem when I use my Macbook's recommened screen resoltuion, but if choose the higest available screen resolution under "Scaled," the issue doesn't occur.
