How to play .vob files on Mac or Convert them?

Hello,
I'm a big Mac convert and I can do 99% of what I need w/o Windows.
However, I have a lot of movies that are on my windows machine which are back-ups and I want to read them or convert them on a Mac so I do not have to painstakenly redo them. They are images (.VOB) files.

Any ideas?

Black Book 2ghz,MBP 2ghz, 24" of Glory iMac 2.16ghz, 12" iBook1.25 ghz Mac OS X (10.4.8)

For the record, VOB files are not images, they are just multiplexed video/audio/subtitle streams. MPlayer and VLC should both have no trouble playing them. If they're in a VIDEO_TS folder, DVD Player will play them (File->Open DVD Media).

So, I downloaded the app. installed it and now when I try to open it it ever so briefly appears in the doc then disappears. It recognizes the files, but it will not stay open.

Any ideas?

Which app did you download? I don't honestly use either one very often, but I do have them both on my Mac and they both run fine...
