My 1st year ends in a few days, should I purchase the Apple Care? What are some of the experiences from others who have purchased or did not purchase Apple care? I've had no issue so far.

No. You can't purchase AppleCare now. You should have purchased it within 60 days of when you purchased it.

Since when? I've always been able to purchase Apple Care anytime within the first year.

Yes I can. You're thinking of IOS devices. It's only 60 days for iPods, iPhones, and iPad. I have up until the end of the first year which will be Monday to purchase 2 more years. I've already confirmed with Apple. I'm asking about iMac not IOS devices.
