Q: iPhone 5 will not restore, unknown error (4005) after iTunes is 'waiting for iPhone - Helpp??
After looking at my iPhone yesterday, I realised it had suddenly turned off! The screen stayed blank when I attempted to charge it, leaving it on in bursts of 30mins (in case it was too flat to show life). After a bit of research online, I found out I needed to restore the phone; I downloaded the required software and left it to fix itself. Unfortunately, upon my return, unknown error (4005) had popped up on iTunes. Trying the restoring procedure again, I noticed that iTunes said 'waiting for iPhone' for over 5 minutes, eventually flashing up with the same unknown error. I tried this over 5 times and im still getting the same issue! My iPhone has not once shown any form of life, has anyone got any suggestions?
Im thinking maybe the battery needs replacing? Although I haven't found any information relating to my specific issue
Both the charging port and battery have been replaced by myself just under a year ago, due to the original charger point breaking. I did go to Apple first, but they wanted £200 to fix an in warranty phone, an amount of money no poor student has!
