Superdrive woes.

Have a Macbook Air running Yosemite. Superdrive worked earlier but now will not read or eject. I think there is a DVD in it, but I am not 100% sure. Also, Finder shows "Remote Disc" even with the Superdrive disconnected. I don't know if "Remote Disc" refers to the Superdrive or not, I'm just assuming it does. Also, if this thing is dead, how do I get the DVD out?
