No. The Apple Pencil works only with the iPad Pro (in the two sizes the iPad Pro is sold).

Thanks, I am considering a new iPad Pro or the new MacBook, but like the use of the pencil!
Keep in mind that the Macbook uses OS X and the iPad Pro uses iOS. While there are numerous productivity apps and the Apple Pencil, it is far from a laptop replacement. I love mine, but if you need OS X I would select the Macbook.
