Q: none of my playlists are showing in itunes

Unfortunately my computer automatically updated to Itunes 12.3.3. I have Windows 7 HP G60-53OUS Notebook

I just noticed that none of my playlists are listed in Itunes Playlist Tab nor under the MY Music Tab.  I had burned my CD's onto my computer and created the play lists.  Individual songs from each CD would also be listed under the MY Music Tab.  Now the only music listed are the ones I purchased from Apple.  It also removed all my playlists from my Ipad Mini and is only showing the music I purchased.

I went into:   Library, Music,  ITunes C,  ITunes , Previous Itunes library.  It lists the different years.  I clicked on 2015 and the playlists aren't there either, only the individual songs I had purchased.

I also went into Library, Music, ITunes C, Itunes Media, Music.  I saw one of my albums, click on it to open it, clicked on one of the songs  It wouldn't play.  It took me to Windows Media Player.  I didn't want to click on anything.

They also talked about ICloud music fighting with Apple music I don't know what ICloud  is.  I typed in ICloud Music, and nothing came up.. It showed I have ICloud Photo .

How can I get all my playlists back without having to download all my CDs again.  That was a very time consuming job.   I don't want I tunes to update  automatically.  I kept saying NO, NO for weeks and then it automatically does it.

Any  help would be appreciated.

    Hi Jaybird48,

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities! I'm sorry to hear that you are having these issues with iTunes after a recent update. I'm a bit unclear on the exact nature and scope of the issues you are describing, but if you appear to be missing content from iTunes, you may find the information and troubleshooting steps outlined in the following articles helpful:

If you don't see your content after you update iTunes - Apple Support

If your music is missing from iTunes - Apple Support

    Hi Brenden dv

Can you please, please continue to help me.  I  clicked on the 2nd link you gave me and did the following.

    Start

    Music

    Library

Music Library ( I double Clicked)

All my music I downloaded is listed along with the purchased songs

At the top of the  page it says: music library includes 8 locations

    I clicked on 8 locations

At the top of the page it says “change how this library gathers it’s content”

    Then it lists the following:

My music ,C users, Suzanne, music  (default saved location)

Public music C users, public, music

ITunes music C users, Suzanne, Music ,Itunes

         My Pictures

         Public Pictures

         Scanned Documents

         Suzanne C Users

         Desk Top

    My questions are

Should I now click on "Itunes, music, C users, Suzanne, Music, Itunes"  and follow the directions?

If this works and my playlist show up again in Itunes on my computer, can I sync my play lists to my Ipad mini without loosing them?

Does that now mean it will be in two locations?

Thanking you in advance for any help.

    Suzanne

    Hi Jaybird48,

I'm a bit unclear what exactly you mean when you say your playlists (like the actual songs in your library, or simply a list of songs like "My Workout Mix"), but if your music in iTunes is spread across eight locations, you may find this article helpful, particularly the "Consolidate files" option:

Locate and organize your iTunes media files - Apple Support

See Empty/corrupt iTunes library after upgrade/crash.

Windows Library folders are confusing the issue somewhat, but can be ignored. Your iTunes library should normally be stored at C:\Users\<User>\Music\iTunes. Once you are down inside this folder you can perform the repair steps.
