Q: iBooks PDF Cloud Sync Problem

With iOS 9.3 came apparently the ability to sync PDFs within iBooks across all devices... At first glance this seems to function. But there is one glaring issue that seems to have no logical explanation - I cannot change the names of the PDF documents. Yes, initially it appears that the name editing procedure works on a device such as iPad or iPhone - prior to this iCloud functionality I was in fact able to change the names of my PDF files without any issue at all. We need to rename these files as often they are saved as an obscure file name when initially downloaded via Safari from the original web location... The problem NOW is that the edited name reverts back to the old one as soon as iBooks carries out a cloud sync.

My other concern is that there is nowhere at iCloud.com to view these PDF files whilst I continue to store them within the iBooks application (which is where I currently prefer them to reside). Some of you may suggest that I move all my PDFs away from iBooks and just stick them in a folder on iCloud Drive but that is not an option I want right now. So.. if the cloud is where iBooks is stashing my PDFs (and so all I am seeing is a mirror of my PDF files - as with Contacts & Calendar etc) then I really need the reassurance of being able to see where the "master" copies of these files are being stored.

I suppose for troubleshooting purposes it would be wise from Apple to integrate icloud master viewing, but they did not. The only way to see those in ibooks app Mac/IOS. You can always feedback them at feedback website. I also have seen here similar to your complains about renaming structure, use feedback also to let them know about it.

Have already had several lengthy telephone conversations with them. It clearly looks like a bug to me.

You didn't have phone conversation with developers, you had conversations with support. Support does not design anything. Your feedback when done in multiples on feedback website is the one that can't be faked. Imagine yourself deciding new feature in new IOS, there as many opinions as people in the room, but when thousands go to feedback site and ask for something you can't fake that.

The purpose of this discussion is not to debate over whom at Apple I should have raised the issue with - do you comment all the posters here with the same inane response? Apple Support is only access point we have when we need to speak to a human about the issue. Unfortunately we are not provided with a hotline to the coders at Cupertino - which I would prefer. Unless you have any practical advice about rectifying my specific issue (there remains a possibility it is somethig user-fixable) then please desist from further replies.

I understand your frustration, but there seems to be a misunderstanding here.

To give Apple feedback, you need to SKIP the support link and go further down to select the app to give feed back; i.e. select iBooks under the heading "IOS APPS", THEN you will get a feedback form.
