Q: Can't find Photo Stream (recently added) on iphone 6

I just discovered with new ios upgrade that the photo stream has changed.  I have done some research and this seems to be a known issue but I have tried to go into my settings and turn off and back on the photo stream option (yes, I am on wifi) and I can't get the new "Recently added" folder to show up.  I have added photos to the Photo Stream on my laptap and wanted view on my iPhone and realized I don't have access on my iphone.  Am I missing something is not not an actualy option anymore?  I have also rebooted my phone with the Photo Stream off and then turned back on but nothing happens.

I did verify that my iphone is syncing with photo stream because photos that I have taken show up when I access me.com online at work.  Thanks.

iPhone 4, iOS 5.1

Remember we can not see you so you have to provide details

What OS and iPhoto version do you have? What has changed since it worked? Is the issue you are having in iPhoto on your Mac where you posted or on your IOS device?

Iphone 6S, IOS 9.3.1.  Can't seem to find the Iphoto version (? I assume whatever works with the ios?)  I don't really know when I had photo stream on my phone last but it has been awhile I suppose.  The photos are updating to Photo Stream from devices I just don't have photo stream available on my iphone therefore not access.

If you have the iCloud Photo Library enabled that will disable the My Photo Stream.  To get the My Photo Stream back you have to stop using the iCloud Photo Stream.

    That did it! Thanks!

Dumb question, what is the difference between the icloud photo library and photo Stream?

iPhoto for iOS does no longer work on iOS8 or newer. The last version iPhoto iOS 2 required iOS 7, and the upgrade to iOS 8 made it impossible to run this beautiful app. Now we have only Photos left on iOS devices.

If you enable My Photo Stream on your iOS device, the My Photo Stream will work silently in the background, if you have iCloud Photo Library enabled. All "My Photo Stream" photos will be in the "All Photos" album, but not shown as a separate album.  The same goes for the Camera Roll.  You will see these albums only if you disable iCloud Photo Library, as pointed out by Old Toad.  These albums are there, but are not shown.

New Photos will upload to My Photo Stream and your device will import from My Photo stream, but you cannot manually manage that album.

Gotcha.  Way more complicated options then I will ever need but I appreciate the answer and glad to have my old photo stream back!  Thanks all!

Two totally different services with nothing really in common - every thing is different between them
