Won't stay on long enough to even get serial number???

I pad air 2-

Shut off about 100 times (literally) within a 2 hour period.

I have done multiple resets (at least 10) home & button, it comes back on and then shuts itself down again. I did a restore in itunes, same thing. Reset it within "settings" as well.

It's fully charged, but won't stay on long enough to even get the serial number, so I can't even make an appointment to have it looked at. I got it for Christmas and am a very light user.

I took about 5 videos last night, that showed it turning itself off and on multiple times per minute. The clock on the lockscreen turns itself off. I can't even get online.

I am so frustrated with this thing.

What is going on???????
