May 13, 2016 9:37 AM in response to angela dundeeby Allan Jones,From whom did you get the adaptor? There were reports of counterfeit versions that did not work.
Also the first MagSafe units have a T-shaped adaptor and, in spite of Apple's claims to the contrary, early MBPs like the 2007 would ofter fail to accept early L-shaped versions.

May 13, 2016 11:42 AM in response to Allan Jonesby OGELTHORPE,Allan Jones' query regarding the source of the charger is a very valid one. There are counterfeits out in the market place.
Can you test the charger on another MBP?
I have a 2006 MBP which will have an identical charger connection as a 2007 MBP. All three of my chargers with the 'L' shaped connection work so I really do not think that is likely to be the problem. Some times you do have to wiggle the charger connection to make it work, but that happens on the unibody MBPs as well.
Check the connections for contamination and discoloration. Check the spring loaded pins in the charger connection to see if they move freely.
Ciao.
