Q: iBooks is frozen and will not respond.

Hello, everyone. I have a 2014 iPad Air. It is running on iOS version 9.3.1. Last night, I was using iBooks, when all of a sudden it froze up. It has not been responsive since. It simply remains stuck on the page I was reading when the app froze, as shown in the pictures below. I cannot get beyond this page or out of this specific iBook. Fortunately, I can quit iBooks by pressing the home button, and all of my other apps work fine. I have tried restarting the iPad, but the problem does not go away. Is there any way to either fix iBooks or, failing that, get rid of it so that I don't have a dysfunctional app taking up valuable space on my iPad? Thank you in advance for your time and assistance.
