iPhone Email Formatting Changes at End User

Hello!

I am trying to set up company wide signatures for everyone. In doing so I sent a test message from my iPhone to ensure the signature looked correct. The issue I am now having is that when I receive the test email on my computer (using the Mail app), or through the Outlook Web App the font is different than what shows on my iPhone. I need to ensure these signatures all look the same to every person that receives an email from our company.

Does anyone know how to ensure the font doesn't change after an email is sent from an iPhone?

I am confused because the font is not the same on the receiving end as it is on the sending end. If I send an email from my phone to my gmail (for instance) the font is completely different. My signature is a sans serif font when I send on my iPhone. When I receive it in gmail it's a serif font. The same is true in other email clients like Outlook and Apple mail. Everything else stays the same including colors and formatting like bold or italics.

If I send an email from gmail with specified formatting in the signature it remains the same in all platforms. Not sure what is happening here.

The iOS email has a certain font - not sure that there is a way to standardize that across platforms from the iPhone and the recipient client which is likely Outlook Exchange or even Apple Mail on a computer

Furthermore there is no way as you know - to put a pictorial signature in the iPhone email

One of the issues is that the iPhone mail converts everything to text based formats

If your other mail clients are using html based formats - that may drive part of the difference

You could try and restrict every platform to text based formats

All I can relate to you is my experience on an Exchange account

When I send an HTML based email and someone replies from their phone - I have to re convert to HTML to inset pictures or change the font

On a computer mail client, it is the user that controls how incoming emails are displayed. In Mail, for example, it's in the Viewing preferences.

Not necessarily - even though a user is able to control the font - does not always mean they do

Many people leave the defaults in place (similar to "password" being the most common password)

Wouldn't that also remove the formatting like colors and whether an item is bold or italicized? Because that is not happening. Only the font is changing.
