Can iMovie detect speech and add subtitles automatically?

Hi

I'm completely new to iMovie (actually, to creating video content) and wonder if it'll do this:

I want to start producing video content with subtitles of what I'm saying.

Can iMovie cope with doing all of this?

If not, any tips on the best workflow for doing it?

The answer to your post title is No. You will have to use titles and type the text in manually.

OK, thanks Geoff.

I might try running dictation while the audio is playing to get a transcript and copy & paste it, or try something non-Apple
