Video clips judder after importing to iPhoto

Hi all. My 4k video clips play fine on my iPhone 6s. When I import them into iPhoto, the videos shake and judder, almost as if frames are missing. When I import them into iPhoto in a different user account, they play fine. Does anyone have an answer as to why this is occuring. Thank you for any help that is offered.

Thank you very much Old Toad. As an addendum, after I posted my question, I imported some of the files into FCP, and the clips all played and burned normally, which is ultimately what I'm looking for. Obviously a problem with iPhoto. Anyway, here is the results from Etrecheck. Thanks again for your help.

You have a large number of adware installed. A simple, quick and safe way to remove adware and malware is to download and use Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for Macs. It's was developed by one of the most respected and top contributors in these forums and recommended by nearly all of the top contributors here.

If you would prefer to do it manually follow these instructions from theSafeMac.com site (author of Malwarebytes): Adware Removal Guide

You also have ClamX antivirus installed. It's not needed as there are no viruses for Macs. AV software can and has been documented as closing down Macs. Uninstall it according to the developer's instructions.

Where is the Photos library located? If it's on your external HD how is that drive formatted and connected to the Mac?

Also export the original video out of the library to the Desktop and check to see how it plays there with Quicktime Player. Any difference from Photos?
