I think that it has to be no older than 2007. You will have to provide the OS system version and speed. I have a Mac Pro 200, Yosemite 10.10.5, 2.3GHz in perfect shape and I was only proposed a $200 voucher.

No. Apple may give a small bounty in the form of a Gift Card for turning it in to them for recycling. You can also sell it for parts on eBay.
