someone deleted my iMessages remotely- help!
Someone recently deleted iMessages off my phone, remotely from their phone, without my consent. Is there any way to retrieve them?
iPhone 5

Thanks! I'm sure they're retrievable somehow-- but the messages were deliberately deleted. They were threatening messages that the person obviously regretted sending. I just have to locate them now. Will have to go to the apple store.

Even if someone shares your Apple ID and passcode (bad idea, by the way), they can't delete anything from your phone. If they have your Apple ID and passcode, they can erase your entire phone but not just parts of it.
Does someone also have the passcode to your phone? Do you have a passcode on your phone?
Settings > Messages > Select "Keep Messages" then Select Forever only affects how long messages stay on your phone.
No one has my passcode or Apple ID and I changed my password recently, so unless this person is with the FBI... But yes, I already had it set to Keep Messages "forever." So now I'm just not sure how to find the deleted messages!
Do you have a passcode on your phone? If you don't, put one on it now. The only way someone could have deleted your messages is if they had access to your phone.
For the future, you might want to use an app like PhoneView (Mac) or TouchCopy (Mac or Windows) to archive your messages to your computer.
Go to Settings > Messages > Select "Keep Messages" then Select Forever
Thanks! What if "forever" is already selected?
Did you use same Apple ID emails used for FaceTime & iMessages another Device??
Same apple ID, yes.
Sorry, misunderstood when you said "Same Apple ID". If the messages got deleted, you'll need to restore your phone from a back up that contains those messages.
Ah I see. But someone else could delete my messages? That seems unlikely.
The only way to retrieve them is if you made an iTunes backup when you still had the iMessages
You can restore that backup and it will restore your iMessages and other SMS to that point

No, sorry to muddy the waters. No one can delete just the messages remotely.
No one else has access to my phone. And I do have a passcode. There is NO WAY he physically got access to my phone.
