Q: Audio problem in macbookpro with win10

Hi,

I installed win10 in my macbookpro 2011.

There is some problem with the audio.It says "No audio output device is installed".

I searched internet everywhere for drivers and solution ......but none of them worked.

A:

VMware would be used only for installation of Windows, not for running it. This will bypass the Optical drive requirement. Please see this link.

Howdy Abel K,

It sounds like you are unable to hear any audio at all when you are booted into Windows 10 in your Boot Camp partition on your Mac. I would recommend using this article to help troubleshoot that issue:

2011 Models are not officially supported by Apple drivers for W10. Was W10 installed using EFI Boot?

I cannot download the supported files...It gives some kind of error.So i manually installed W10 using EFI boot. Then installed bootcamp 5.1 seperately in windows.But the audio is not working.So i decided to install win 8.1.In win8.1 also same error...
I tried to update from device manager , it says "Device cannot start code 10".
I installed ubuntu 15 on the same macbook,it does not not have any problem.Please help.

Yes it was installed by EFI boot.

Windows EFI boot on preUEFI models - like the 2011 Mac - does not work properly. Is it possible to install W10 using legacy BIOS/MBR method?

Remove the current BC/Windows installation, use a physical DVD and BC Assistant and click on the 'Install..." option. You can also check the "Download..." box if you want BC drivers to be downloaded to a USB which you can use to install BC drivers.

Yes i have the drivers downloaded by the bootcamp assistant.But the DVD drive in my macbook pro is not working.So i cannot use dvd.Is there any way to do it with a flash drive.

You will need to use BIOS/MBR method with the USB method. The DVD method always uses BIOS/MBR.

Ok.I searched the internet and tried to install win 8.1 by using bootable usb created by Windows USB DVD Download Tool.I had refind installed.So i selected the usb.
Then a blank screen showing a message -"No bootable device -- Insert boot disk and press any key.".
Then it does not respond.

If you use the Alt/Option key, and boot your Mac with the USB connected, do you a Windows icon on the USB?

When i press alt key.It does not show anything to boot from usb.

It only shows Refit,Machintosh HD,Recovery and EFI boot(current Windows).It does not detect usb when i press alt.
But in refit it shows a bootable usb with a windows symbol.But thats not working.
I think there is no problem with bootable usb because it is booting in my pc, if i set my usb boot priority 1.

rEFIt and rEFInd will confuse the issue further and do not add much value at this point. I suggest removing them.

The 2011 Macs will boot from a USB, but do not install properly. If you use a Windows Media Creation tool to build a USB, it will not work properly on a 2011 Mac. Can you use BC Assistant to build the USB? I assume you have modified Bootcamp info.plist.
