face falling off

This is my third apple watch replacement. the whole screen / face has come loose on all three, in fact one completely broke the ribbon cable and flew off. I sit out in the sun and use suntan lotion on my arms. I must have it on my fingers when I use the watch and it loosens the glue holding the face on. Support indicates this is my issue exclusively. Now I am concerned about wearing it outside with lotion on my arms.

Has anyone else had this issue?

The difference in weather conditions is academic.

Apple does not offer a screen repair or replacement service for Apple Watch and Apple Watch is not user-serviceable.

Your Apple Watch requires replacement.

If the issue is not covered under warranty or other Apple policy (be sure to ask), then it may be eligible for replacement via chargeable, out-of-warranty service - or via AppleCare+, if previously purchased.

Contact Apple Support (mail-in service may be available, if required), make a Genius Bar reservation or visit an Apple Authorised Service Provider to arrange for your Apple Watch to be inspected and to establish your available service options:

Just happened to my first gen Apple Watch Sport today. I must say that I am very disappointed. I don't use lotions, don't exercise that much, and do not spend time outside in the elements.

It is outside of warranty. Nonetheless, this is not the type of failure I expect from a $350 watch. I work for the U.S. government overseas so I will have to wait for my next trip back to the U.S. to get it fixed. Such an inconvenience!

Yes I noticed this last week while on vacation. My face is slightly lifting up on one side. Thank God my brother noticed it & I had a back up watch in my purse. I wrapped it up nicely until we returned home from vacation. The thing is I ver seldom wear this watch, so we are wondering what this issue is ? Well I hope ti get it resolved at the Apple Store without a problem seeing we paid good money for this watch. Apple is a good company also.

I too don't sit in sun, don't use lotions, don't get my watch wet and today the screen just popped off. Clearly a manufacturing defect. I have had a number of much less expensive watches and this is the first one that has even fallen apart. Very disturbing that an apple product would fail like this. But I guess I shouldn't be too surprised given the design flaws in their computer chargers. Don't get me wrong. I am an Apple fan but they should send out a consumer warning or recall about the risk of the watch face falling off. Had I been standing in the rain I am sure I woud have a shorted out dead watch.

My screen fell off and even with AppleCare Apply welched on the repair and is refusing to honor their extended warranty. The watch was slightly over a year old.

All I got was excuses from Apple. Apple support has gotten a lot worse lately anyway (on an iPhone and iPad) and now they won't back their produces.

Obviously the screen was a manufacturing defect (one person even said it had poor adhesive and should be repaired). I am seeing an attorney, but obviously I am sure Apple has a way of welching out.

I had this happen to two of my watches and on the phone and online Apple was no help. I decided no wasn’t an option so I went to the store and talked to them there. They sent them in for repair and sent me two new Apple watches that were the same model that I had but without any problems.

Go to the Apple store directly and talk to someone there. BTW, this was last week so very recent.

Same problem but I don't use sun lotion or sit out in the sun very often. I was outside (in the shade) cleaning up my yard when I heard a strange clicking noise, happened to look down after about the 20th time hearing it and noticed my screen hanging by the cable! Took it to an Apple Store but they wouldn't swap it out even though it was *clearly* defective They were nice enough to offer to either send me out a new one if I paid a $550 ransom or let me go without my watch for a week or so by sending it in and letting them try to fix it, great support Apple!
