Q: mac plus

I have a Mac Plus (1MB RAM) purchased in 1985 along with an external floppy drive.  It runs and boots well, but I have intermittent display issues.  At times it visible, but then i move the device and it goes off.  The occasional thump on the side may bring it back, but more often than not there is no display.  It is like there is a loose connection somewhere inside.  I remember reading somewhere that you have to be very careful when poking inside as there is a big concern regarding capacity shock or something.

Anyway, just wondering if anyone had some enlightenment on the issue.

iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2014), OS X Yosemite (10.10.2)

This could possibly be a loose or oxidised cable connection, but a cracked solder joint may be another thing to look for.

Yes, all work inside a compact Mac is dangerous because of the high voltages involved, and must be performed by someone with the necessary expertise only. Charges can remain in certain sections/components for a long time, even after the computer has been switched off and disconnected from the mains.

I suspected as much.  Thanks for the confirmation Jan.  Now... to find someone with "necessary expertise" where I live.  Love that machine...first Mac I ever bought.  Loved it even more after the external floppy drive.  You could get carpal tunnel swapping disks so often.
