Just to clarify -

You want to close all open windows from all running apps except the one you are working on, leaving all the other apps running?

Or are you asking about all open windows that are open within a specific app?

If you simply want to not see the other windows, then Option + Command + H will hide all the other windows that are running in other apps, except the one that has current focus, but that may not be what you want.

First off, I would be running Chrome instead of Safari. 🙂 Much better browser. 😎 Then you can right click or option click a tab and select close other tabs or close tabs to the right.

Cheers!

Chrome may be a better browser in your opinion, but that doesn't make it fact. I hate Chrome, and I hate how it hogs RAM, and I hate how invasive Google is in general when it comes to getting your information. I'd rather use Firefox or Opera if Safari for some reason wasn't available to me.

Different browsers have different features - it depends on which one(s) you like or dislike; that does not necessarily make one "much better" than another. And, the OP asked about using browser windows, not tabs. Secondly, not everyone appreciates the resource hogging features of Chrome or the invasive nature of Google anything. Personally, I don't allow anything Google near my Mac, but my browser of choice is Firefox.
