Q: safari

Does anyone know why my Safari bookmarks are now all centered in the middle of the grey bookmark bar, rather than the way they used to be which was left justified? My first bookmark in the bar used to be close to the very left side of my screen (by the "Top Sites" icon), but now there's a 3 1/2" space between that icon and the start of the first bookmark on the bar. I would like to get it back to left justified so that there's not that empty wasted space there and I could also have more room on the right side of the bar for more bookmarks to be visible. Please see screenshot and thank you in advance for your help.

    Heather ...

I'm running v10.11.4 with Safari 9.1 and my tabs are justified to the left.

Make sure you have the latest version of Safari installed. Open the App Store then select Updates from the menu top of the App Store window.

If there are no updates available, you may have a Safari extension or third party plug-in installed that's causing a conflict. It’s easy to troubleshoot.

From the Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Extensions tab. Uninstall one extension at a time, quit and relaunch Safari to test.

If it's not an extensions issue, try troubleshooting third party plug-ins.

Back to Safari > Preferences. This time select the Security tab. Deselect:  Allow plug-ins. Quit and relaunch Safari to test.

If that made a difference, instructions for troubleshooting plugins here.
