What is the best all-in-one printer for OS X El Capitan

I am looking for recommended all-in-one color printer for use with MacBook Pro using OS X El Capitan 10.11.4 (15E65).

After reviewing a dozen product reviews, I have noted recurring complaints of dysfunctionality between OS X El Capitan and printers.

I only need for printing from a computer; wireless connection; duplex printing; legal size scanning; thrifty ink use & off brand ink use capability.

MacBook, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

I'm using an HP Officejet Pro 8620. I have it hard-wired to my company issued Dell laptop but run it wirelessly with my i-Mac and my son's MacBook Air (our paranoid security software on the Dell won't let me connect to the printer wirelessly). It does legal size, not sure about duplex, and the ink (although pricey) lasts a long time. Never tried 3rd party ink cartridges or refills. This printer works great for us.

Everyone will have different experiences and opinions. Personally, I will never buy an inkjet printer ever again. Don't care if I can buy a multi-function for $40-50, then spend $30-60 every couple of hundred pages of print. I have switched to laser printers for home. Even with a "comparable" cost per replacement cartridge ($30-60), 100 pages for inkjet versus 500-1000 pages for toner, there is no comparison (and the ink won't dry out between prints). I have had good luck with the laser versions of HP, Dell, and heard good things with various versions of Brother, Canon and others. Review Amazon for the better ranked ones. I highly suggest Laser, both for the cost and the quality of print. My two cents worth.
