I had to plug in a usb keyboard bc all I'm getting is greek gibberish. I took off the option key to see if it was stuck. it wasn't. I turned off all modifier keys and it didn't work. I tried switching keyboard inputs such as to abc and nothing either. help please.

Try going to system prefs, and make sure you are set to the language you require.
You may also try disconnecting all external devices that are not nescessary and then try a SMC reset.
If you are getting åß∂ƒ instead of asdf, it means your machine thinks the option key is always depressed. If a usb keyboard works fine, it usually indicates that your internal keyboard is broken and needs repair or replacement.
That's what I was thinking too, so I went under system preferences and disabled the option key. The problem still continued.
SSoftware settings like that normally can't affect anything when the hardware is damaged.
