Q: old and new ipads showing up in itunes

hi all
  In need of a little help I backed up my Ipad Air both to Icloud and to my PC

I then unplugged it from my computer and plugged in my new Ipad Pro

I set the pro up with the back up from the Air

 

  but now, when I plug the Pro in, in Itunes it shows as both ipads plugged in.
I even changed the name of the pro directly on the machine.
It now shows me both the old and new names, and thinks both ipads are connected

 

  I'm about to delete the Air to ready it to sell, but don't want to do that until I know this weird issue is resolved.

Do you have Wifi Sync turned on for the old iPad? When you connect the old iPad to iTunes, do you see the "Sync with this phone over Wifi" in the Summary section for that device in iTunes?
