How can i look into a .DMG file

As the title says how do i look into a dmg file. I know it's an image and that clicking on it mounts it to install apps but i want to look into it first. Ok i'm a nosey git but i am curious and want to know what makes thinks tick.

right click on the installer icon and select "show packages contents"

the installer package and it's components will be shown in the Finder
