Q: Your message could not be sent / Macbook & iPhone Messages

Hello,

My iPhone and Macbook used to sync up perfectly whenever sending and receiving messages. Now, I can no longer receive any pictures on my Messages account while on my Macbook. My phone will still receive it.

Additionally, I frequently get, "Your message could not be sent" notifications. Especially when trying to send and receive a picture. Regular text works fine.

Any help or troubleshooting suggestion would be much appreciated! My storage space is fine and I've signed out and back in to my Messages, but nothing has changed.

Thank you!

    Hi,

I have several different types of account in Messages covering all the services it can join.

I have issues with sending and receiving Pics over the AIM Service if I try to do it In-line.  However zipped pictures work.

I have no trouble sending or receiving pics over the iMessages Service.

However I also have Little Snitch which is an app that reports and potentially blocks connections if I don't recognise where they are going to or from.

Whilst not listing Messages or iMessages in the name these processes are involved in just logging in  some accounts in Messages.

You will notice the one with the padlock is also listed in Identity Services.

There are similar named items to IMRemoteURLConnectionAgent  that show up when making File Transfer connections both for iMessages and the AIM service.

There are several other apps that do a similar monitor and firewall action to Little Snitch and you may need to allow the processes if you are using one of these.
