Currently running iOS 9.3.2. I recently upgraded from a iPhone 5S to a 6S Plus. Now when I try to open some of my GarageBand songs, I receive the message "Can't Open Song - This song requires a newer version of GarageBand. Please update to the latest version." My version is up-to-date, and many of my other songs open without a problem. Only about five or six of them result in this message. Advice?

Could you have downloaded additional content on the old device which hasn't carried over? Try taping the spanner and then Restore Purchases.

Sorry - what do you mean by "taping the spanner?" Do you mean tapping the banner? I turned in the old device and everything was transferred over before it was wiped. It's weird because some songs open fine and others display the message.
The spanner at the top-right in GarageBand when a song is open. I'm just thinking it might be a dependency problem with the wrong error message.

Thanks for your help. The only thing shown at the top-right is Select, and when I tap a song I want to open, I get the Can't Open Song message.
I though you said some songs opened. If necessary create a new one.

Yes, some do. I tried restoring purchases but it's saying Operation could not be completed. Weird.
Are you currently on Wi-Fi? If not it may want to wait until you are.

Yes, I'm on a Wi-Fi network. Just tried the restore purchases command again and had the same problem that the operation could not be completed.
I suppose that might be the expected response if you had never made any. It was a punt after all.

Yeah, I appreciate the effort. I'm just worried that these four songs out of 17 are lost.
Do you have a Mac? You could try exporting via file sharing and see if the Mac can open them.
