wi-fi on iphone6 plus keeps connecting to my 2.4ghz network and not my 5ghz network
Hi all I'm a bit puzzled as my iPhone and also my iPad and my macbook air only seem to connect to my 2.4ghz wireless network and not the 5ghz network i'm also running? They do connect if i select the 5ghz network manually, I thought the idea of the dual channel on theses devices was supposed to pick the best network to connect to. I have run a wireless noise test and on the 2.4ghz channel there is a lot of noise but hardly any on the 5ghz channel so to me it makes sense that the devices should automatically connect to the 5ghz channel but none of them do? Does anyone have any ideas
I have the two networks running on different routers set on different channels. I need the 2.4ghz channel for devices that cannot connect to the 5ghz one
It's quite obvious when connected to 2.4ghz as all devices run clearly slower
No problems are being caused it's just bugging the heck outta me
