Then try again.
If that doesn't help, try a little more pressure on the screen. -

The issue has just been resolved. Apple released a software update, I downloaded it, and now my watch is working as it should.
Thank you, Carolyn, for your suggestions. They were good ones, but as it turned out, what I needed was the additional software update.
