MacBook Air bluetooth not working

Hi,

my bluetooth is turned on, but cannot pair to either my iPhone 5 (latest iOS) or my new stereo.

I have also never been able to use Airdrop.

Has anyone got any suggestions?

Thanks, Resi

First, the iPhone is not supported to pair with the computer (excepting for tethering).

I suggest that, first, you reset the NVRAM and SMC. Hopefully that will correct the stereo problem.

Then, turn OFF the software firewall on your computer (at least while you are trying to airdrop). That is found in system preferences>security and privacy>firewall. A very knowledgeable poster here said that of your router has a firewall on, the software one is not necessary.
