Easy way to remove excess line breaks from txt, html, and epub files?

I transfer web pages to my e-reader to read. I have to convert everything to epub, because pdfs and djvus are designed for bigger screens, and txt and html don't display correctly.

Anyway, some pages have lots of extra line breaks which are laid out for bigger screens.

I have to remove the line breaks to make them readable. I know DevonTech's Wordservice works in txt, which I can convert to Epub. Is there anything which works in Epub itself? Is there anything else which works in txt?

Thanks.

Many text apps have Find & Replace functionality. You could "find" multiple-returns instances and "replace" them with just one return.

A suggestion...

Have you tried the Reading List functionality in Safari? The websites are saved locally for off-line reading. When you're ready, open the website and use the Reader functionality (in the address bar) to remove all distractions, ads and make the text larger and more readable.
