    Thanks Pinky Stones!

I have tried repeatedly to make my actual question as painfully easy to swiftly comprehend as plausibly possible.  I merely asked about an update but I think, on rare occasions, that my initial question somehow got confused in translation.  That made no sense.  Or:  Thay made absolutely no sense and, moreover, whatsoever.

Gail from Nebraska said it first but I think she misinterpreted my simple question.  The actual update which I merely installed was in fact an upgrade. To what, I simply don't know.  Hope that clarifies this tomfoolery and has provdied a jot of mere mirth.

I was merely creating mirth but I appreciate your sense of humour.  Wishing you an utterly fine day as this has been sheer absurdity and I am stunned that you all took the time to answer this balderdash.

Actually 10.11.5 is an updated version of El Capitan. An upgrade will have a different name:

    10.0.x - 10.0.4                    Cheetah

    10.1.x - 10.1.5                    Puma

    10.2.x - 10.2.8                    Jaguar

    10.3.x - 10.3.9                    Panther

    10.4.x - 10.4.11                  Tiger

    10.5.x - 10.5.8                    Leopard

    10.6.x - 10.6.8                    Snow Leopard

    10.7.x - 10.7.5                    Lion

    10.8.x - 10.8.5                    Mountain Lion

    10.9.x - 10.9.5                    Mavericks

    10.10.x - 10.10.5                Yosemite

    10.11.x - 10.11.5 (so far)    El Capitan

The number after the 10 represents an Upgrade

    The .x represents an Update

So, this .5 release of 10.11 is an update.

    Cheers,

Here I go again.  I finally got everything updated by buying a brand new iMac back in May before I went to Fiji with my family.  Anyhoo. I got the firmware Sierra update and I don't like Siri on it.  I didn't know how to get it off so I pullled the speakers out with needl nose pliers.  Now I don't have any sounds and I like music.  So, how do I reinstall Maverick software onto it?  I bought the 2016 model with everything loaded on it. Over 3200 grand.  I took the iMac in only after having it and fixing to Siri problem just over a week.  I told the genie guys what I did and they laughed as I guess they knew I was no amauteur.  I wasn't laughing though.  Anyway, they said I'd voided the warranty and I don't like that answer.  How do I reinstall the software drivers to get audio back on it.  I like music and noises.  Thanks in adva!  Willard Peterson
